D. M. Eldridge, a resident of Madison county for many years, died last Saturday at Ainsworth, Neb., where he was spending the winter with a nephew. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Eldridge was the youngest son of William and Rebecca Ray Eldridge, and was born March 21, 1864, at the family home near Hanley. In 1912 he lived on a farm near West Des Moines. Since that time he had lived in or near Des Moines until three years ago, when he went to West Bend to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Irvin Morey.

He was married in July, 1891, to Nola Beverlin. They were the parents of four children. Mrs. Eldridge died in 1904, and his oldest daughter, Fay, with whom he had made his home for several years, died in 1941.

He leaves three children: Glen Eldridge of Des Moines, Gail Eldridge of California, and Mrs. Flavia Morey of West Bend; in addition to four grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, C. A. Eldridge of Scott township.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Des Moines, in charge of the Rev. William Mack, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
