Harvey Rex Hamner, 74, of Des Moines died Aug. 1, 2006, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 4, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Don Frank officiating. Burial of the cremains was at Winterset Cemetery.
Harvey Hamner was born April 29, 1932, in Winterset to George and Clara Pearl (Wagner) Hamner. On Jan. 13, 1951, he married Beverly Ann Kellar in Indianola. Harvey had been a sales representative for IBM, Sears and other companies throughout his life. His memberships included Warren County Saddle Club, Iowa Quarter Horse Association and the Norwalk–Prole Saddle Club. He also was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He was a resident of Indianola prior to moving to Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Des Moines; one son, Michael Hamner of Altoona; a brother, Ronnie Hamner of Winterset; a sister, Ruby Patterson of Winterset; and two grandchildren.
