Graveside services for Michael Robert Thayer, 37, rural Patterson, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1987, in a drowning at a farm pond near Patterson, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset cemetery.

Born in Des Moines on Dec. 28, 1949, he was the son of George and Betty Cours Thayer. He was a self-employed farmer.

He had lived here for five years and formerly lived in Altoona.

Survivors include his parents of Altoona and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Albert Cours of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Brad and Dean, both of Altoona; and sisters, Sue Carol Lindsay of Clear Lake and Cathy Johnston of Altoona.
