DEATH COMES TO YOUNG ST. CHARLES WOMAN

Mrs. Donald James Died Last Friday at Bedford

Mrs. Donald James, well known young woman of St. Charles, died Friday morning, Dec. 23, at the home of her parents in Bedford, at the age of 31 years. Mrs. James had undergone an operation for appendicitis Oct. 21, and seemed to be recovering satisfactorily, when death came suddenly.

Mrs. James was the former Hazel Vera Weingarth, a daughter of A. L. and Ida Weingarth. She was born in Taylor county, Han. 4, 1907. She attended the Bedford public schools, graduating from high school in 1925. She then matriculated at Iowa State at Ames, in the department of home economics and received her B. S. degree in 1929. She taught five years in the St. Charles high school and the last year in the Patterson high school.

She was married to Donald James of St. Charles, May 18, 1934, and the couple made their home in St. Charles.

She is survived by her husband, Donald James; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Weingarth; a brother, Carl Weingarth of Rockport, Mo.; two grandmothers, Eva Raynor of New Mareket and Margaret Weingarth of Bedford; and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 26, at the Shum funeral home in Bedford, conducted by the Rev. A. Douglas Steffenson and burial was made in the Bedford cemetery.
