Wednesday, January 10, 1945Mrs. Mary Searl, formerly of the Lorimor neighborhood, died at Norwalk on Dec. 23, it was announced here this week. She was 68 years of age.
Mrs. Searl was the former Mary Caroline Cornelison, daughter of John and Elizabeth Cornelison, and was born in Madison county April 11, 1876. She was married Jan. 6, 1892, to John W. Searl. They were the parents of eight children, two of whom died in infancy, and one son, John, who died in 1931. The husband and father died in 1935.
She is survived by five children: Harry Searl of Creston, James Searl of Newton, Cleo Searl of Rock Island, Ill., Ray Searl of Lexington, Nebr., and Fred Searl of Norwalk; three sisters, Mrs. John Gonseth, Mrs. Laura Farr, and Mrs. Sarah Healy; two brothers, Charles and Arthur Cornelison; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Christmas day from the Lorimor Christian church, in charge of the Rev. Everett Epperson. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
