MRS. GERTRUDE TEMPLE, Fulton, Ill.

Services for Mrs. Gertrude Temple, 80, Fulton, Ill., who died July 28, 1988, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at Clinton, Iowa, were held July 30 at the Assembly of God Church in Fulton with the Rev. James Sprinkel, pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Fulton, officiating. Burial was at the Fulton Cemetery.

Mrs. Temple was born Aug. 25, 1907 in the Neetherlands, Holland, the daughter of Albert and Alice Dykstra Decker. She was married to Jacob H. Temple on June 3, 1926 in Morrison, Ill.

She resided in Fulton her entire married life and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, served as church pianist for 12 years, was Women's Ministries secretary for 18 years and taught Sunday school for many years. She served as Sunday school superintendent and was a member of the Harbor Crest Nursing Home, a member of the ladies auxiliary and a member of the weekly prayer meeting group.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Alvina) Garmon of Truro, Marge Temple of Fulton and Mrs. Melvin Decker of Fulton; sons, Gerald and Delbert, both of Clinton, and Jacob of Fulton; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 17 step great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Decker of Worth, Ill.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a step-great grandchild, a sister, and 5 brothers.
