MRS. HANNAH M. CHASE

Mrs. Hannah M. Chase was born in Nelson county, Ky., September 17, 1814, where she lived till 1837, when she moved with her parents to Missouri.

At the age of fifteen years she became a member of the Baptist church.

In 1838 she married Amos Chase, with whom she moved to Platville, Wis., in 1845, then to Cassville, Wis., in 1846, where they lived eight years. From there they moved on Blake's prairie near where George Millins now lives. About 1868 they moved to Winterset, Iowa, where the husband died in 1889. She continued to live at Winterset with her two sons, Winfield and Alanson until 1893, when she came to Glen Haven, Wis., with her daughter, Mrs. John Barr, with whom she has lived ever since.

She was a mother of nine children, all of whom but one survive her.

For the past three years she has been quite an invalid, and gradually failed in health til she peacefully and quietly passed to her rest April 12, 1898; aged 83 years, 6 months and 26 days. The remains were brought to the old home in this county and interred April 15th at the Worthington cemetery.
