October 4, 1944Pfc. George Robshaw of the U. S. army was killed in action in France on Sept. 9, according to word received last week by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Robshaw of Peru.
The young soldier was 19 years of age, and was serving with an infantry regiment of the American army.
He was a graduate of the Peru high school, with the class of 1943. In October of 1943 he entered military service, and was sent to Camp Wolters, Texas where he was in training until last March. At that time he spent a furlough at home, and upon returning to duty was transferred to Ft. Meade, Ml.
Private Robshaw was sent overseas last April, and was stationed in the British Isles until he was sent against the enemy in France.
The last letter from him was written on Sept. 5. He was in rest camp at that time.
The soldier is survived by his parents and a number of brothers and sisters.
