Mrs. Samuel Hodson, a resident of Winterset since 1907, died at the Winterset hospital on Thursday of last week after a long illness. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Hodson was the former Emma Christine Klever, daughter of Anton and Mary Klever, and was born at Whalen, Minn., on Sept. 7, 1886. A few years later the family moved to Wayne, Nebr., where she was married to Samuel Hodson on Dec. 30, 1891. They lived in Jericho, Mo., and in Grand Junction, Colo., before coming to Winterset.

She was confirmed in the English Lutheran church as a girl, later uniting with the Methodist church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Winterset Methodist church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, George Klever of Santa Ana, Calif., and Charley Klever, of Omaha; and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Phelps of Jericho Springs, Mo., Mrs. C. R. Smith of Winterset, and Mrs. Edna Sharp of Jericho Springs.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. A. Samp. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
