Frank A. Strable Dies in Bevington

Funeral services June 12 for Life-Long Resident of That Community

Frank A. Strable, a life-long resident of the neighborhood just south of Bevington, died at his home there June 9 at the age of 76 years. He had been in failing health since December.

Mr. Strable was born Feb. 16, 1868, on the old Strable homestead south of Bevington. His death occurred at his home just across the road from the place of his birth.

He was the son of Sylvester and Lucinda Strable. On Dec. 22, 1891, he was married to Sarah Elizabeth Slayden. They were the parents of nine children, one of whom died in infancy.

He is survived by his eight children, Ernest, Guy and Vernon Strable of St. Charles; Mrs. Alice Cumings of Prole; Mrs. Rachel Roth of St. Charles; Raymond Strable of Winterset; Carl Strable of Prole; and Mrs. Bertha Stroud of Martensdale; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Shannon and Mrs. Ida Smull of St. Charles; 28 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 12 from Blair Chapel in charge of the Rev. E. W. Mueller of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Martensdale. Burial was made in Blair Chapel cemetery.
