Mrs. Charles W. Taylor of near Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1970, at Memorial hospital here. She was 60 years of age.
Mrs. Taylor was the former Lois Helen Hamilton, daughter of Hayes and Virgie Wynkoop Hamilton. She was born in Jackson township Sept. 5, 1909. She was married at Bethany, Mo., on April 9, 1932, to Charles W. Taylor, who survives her.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the West Star Methodist church. She was active in the Madison County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Sunshine Garden club.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband, nearest surviving relative is a foster brother, Wallace Gudzus, of Van Nuys, Calif.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Lois Helen Taylor of rural Winterset passed away at Madison County Memorial hospital February 6, 1970 at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 1 day. She was born September 5, 1909 in Jackson township of Madison county to Hayes and Virgie Wynkoop Hamilton. Her entire life was spent in residence in Madison county. She graduated from Earlham high school in 1929. She was a lifelong member of the West Star Methodist church. She was an active member of the Sunshine Garden Club. She was also active in Farm Bureau work, serving on numerous committees and as the County Women’s Chairman for two years.
She was married to Charles W. Taylor on April 9, 1932 at Bethany, Missouri.
Her parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death; she being the last member of her family.
She is survived by her husband Charles, her foster brother Wallace Gudzus of Los Angeles, California, two aunts and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted February 9, 1970 by the Reverend Everett K. Burham of Winterset at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset and burial at the Winterset cemetery.
Lois will be sadly missed by many, many friends and neighbors. There was never a time when she did not give her time and energy to anyone who needed a helping hand. Her greatest pleasures were in helping others, her home and her gardens.
