Well Known Druggist Dies After a Long and Painful Illness.
T. F. Wilhelm, the north side drug merchant, passed away on last Thursday morning, after an extended illness and intense suffering from that dreaded disease, cancer. The first symptoms of his illness developed last winter. He went to the Rochester hospital, where everything possible was done to save his life, but to no avail.
Mr. Wilhelm was 47 years of age and moved to Winterset, where he engaged in business, in 1898. He was successful in business, and had a wide circle of warm friends, whose sympathy is extended to his family. Besides his wife, Minnie, and one daughter, Helen, he is survived by his mother, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church on Saturday at 9 a.m. and burial made at the Winterset cemetery.

North Side Druggist Dies of Cancer Wednesday Evening. Funeral Saturday.
Thomas Wilhelm, the well known north side druggist, died at his home in the northwest part of the city at 10 o’clock Wednesday evening. The funeral was held Saturday morning at St. Joseph’s church, Rev. White officiating. Interment was at the Stringtown cemetery.
Death came as a relief to Tom Wilhelm. Early last winter a troublesome tooth developed into cancer. An operation at Rochester in February gave temporary relief and a second operation in June prolonged his life. Since returning home from Rochester his case was considered hopeless and death a question of days.
Mr. Wilhelm was forty-seven years old. He came to Winterset from Audubon in 1898 and established the drug store he owned at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Minnie Allgeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allgeyer, a year or two afterward. He is survived by his wife, their daughter, Helen, his mother, who resides in Ft. Dodge, and two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Wilhelm devoted himself to his business and was one of the successful business men of the city. He had a wide acquaintance and was popular. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family.
