GLENN B. TATE, Winterset Native Dies at Oelwein

Glenn B. Tate, member of a formerly well-known Winterset family, died Tuesday, April 7, 1964, at a hospital in Oelwein. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Tate was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Tate. He was born in Winterset Oct. 29, 1882. Early in life he worked as a clerk in his father's hardware store in Winterset. Later he operated a variety store in Paullina for several years, then went to Sioux City where he spent the greater part of his life, working for the American Auto association and later as a clerk in the Davidson store there.

In 1957, because of failing health, he went to make his home with his brother, John Tate, at West Union.

He is survived by three sisters and two brothers. They are Laura E. Tate of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. J. K. McKinney of Yucaipa, Calif., Mrs. Lyman Myers of Stockton, Calif., Dean C. Tate of Yucaipa, and John M. Tate of West Union.

His brother Horace Tate, died in California, February 2, 1964, and has been buried here.

Funeral services were held in West Union last Thursday. The body was cremated, and will be interred at Winterset at a later date.
