Marguerite, the six year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Tate, died Friday night, about 10 o'clock, after an illness of two months. the child was travelling her from the west in September, when she became sick and she has been gradually growing worse.
An autopsy was conducted Saturday night, by Dr. J. Weingart of Des Moines. Dr. Fred Moore, also of Des Moines, was attending, as well as several of the Winterset physicians. It was found that the trouble was in the left kidney. This had extended to the liver, both lungs and inferior vena cava.
The child was born near this town in 1917, where she lived until she was three years old. Her parents moved to Goldendale, Wash., in 1920, where she resided until September, when they came back to Winterset. She is survived by her parents and two brothers Errol and Paul. Funeral services were conducted from the Church of Christ by E.B. Chancellor, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was made in the family cemetery at North River.

Marguerite Marie Tate was born near Winterset, Feb. 12, 1917 (daughter of Edwin A. and Minnie Maud Hendricks Tate) . She departed this life Nov. 23, 1923 at the age of 6 years, 9 months and 11 days. The first three years of her life were spent in Madison County. The rest of her life was spent in Goldendale, Wash., with the exception of the last few weeks which were spent at the home of her grandmother in Winterset.
On Sept. 19th, she with her mother, brothers and grandmother, started for Winterset, and she was taken sick on the road. Her suffering was intense, but she was a very patient child and endured pain without complaint. She was a bright, ambitious child, always ready to be helpful to others. Her loving disposition made for her a large circle of friends. She took a deep interest in the home and the Sunday School.
She leaves to hold her in cherished memory the father, mother, two brothers, Errol and Paul, one grandfather, two grandmothers, and a large number of more distant relatives and a goodly circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Church of Christ Sunday afternoon by E. B. Chancellor. Burial was made at North McDonald Cemetery.
