Dewayne M. Underwood, 67, died at University Hospital, Iowa City, October 23, 1991, of burns he suffered in an accident at home two and one-half weeks ago. Services were October 28 at Southtown Funeral Home.
Born in Des Moines, he moved to the DeSoto-Van Meter area a few years ago. He was World War II Air Cops veteran and self-employed in the salvage business.
Surviving are a son, Wayne of Chicago; three brothers, Floyd of Winterset, Carolyn of Des Moines and Harold of Lorimor; and two sisters, Merline Nichols of Winterset and Eleanor Clemens of Des Moines.
Burial was at Elm Grove Cemetery.
