Services for George A. Howard, 73, rural Winterset, who died Dec. 24 at the Madison County Hospital, were held Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, at the Collins Funeral Home with Kenneth Helmers officiating. Burial was at the Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
Born in Winterset Mar. 14, 1910, he was the son of Charles and Letha Connelly Howard. He had retired from Gendler's quarry in 1975, had trucked for Young's elevator for 14 years and had worked for the City and Farmer's Elevator.
He married Evelyn Louise Wagley Nov. 11, 1946 at Winterset. She survives along with a stepson, Floyd Wagley, a stepdaughter, Wanda Bryan, and an uncle, John Howard, all of Winterset; two step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
