MRS. EDWARD (CORA) HANEY Dies

The death of Mrs. Edward Haney, elderly Winterset woman, occurred at her home here, last Friday. She was 75 years of age. She died following a two day illness.

Mrs. Haney was born Cora Elizabeth Chickering, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chickering, near Denmark, Iowa, on August 22, 1860. As a child she moved with her parents to Montgomery county, where she grew to womanhood.

She was married to Edward Hany on September 10, 1880. They were the parents of four children, Harriett B. Tompkins of Wintereset, Margaret May Tompkins of Fort Madison, E. D. Haney of Patterson, and Florence Ada Haupt of Rowan, Iowa.

With her husband, she united with the Methodist church near Elliott, Iowa, and remained a life-long member of that faith. Mrs. Haney was known as a strongly religious woman.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Fitzpatrick, of Burlington; and four brothers, Charles Chickering of Elliott, Iowa, George Chickering of Webb, Iowa, Bert Chickering of Winterset, and Duncan Chickering of Ottumwa.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Methodist church in Winterset in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. R. Talley, assisted by the Rev. R. E. Harvey, a former pastor of Mrs. Haney's at Elliott. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
