Mrs. Tom Jackson Dies Suddenly

Found Dead Tuesday at her Home; Had Been in Ill Health

Mrs. Tom Jackson, well known Douglas township woman, was found dead at her farm home west of Winterset Tuesday afternoon. Her husband discovered the body when he came home from work. She had left a note indicating that she had taken her own life. She had been despondant over her health.

Mrs. Jackson was 51 years of age. She had been in delicate health since a childhood accident, in which she was run over by a wagon loaded with coal when she was 10 years of age. In the last three years she had undergone several serious operations in an effort to regain her health.

She was the former Letha Addy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Finley Addy and was born in Union township May 22, 1896. Her mother died when she was four years old. The family moved to Winterset in 1914.

She was married to Tom Jackson in 1923. They were the parents of one son Jack Jackson, of Winterset.

Surviving are her husband; the son; a brother, E. T. Addy of Belle Plane, and two sisters, Mrs. Jewel Ramsey and Mrs. Ferne Jackson, both of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed of Tingley. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
