GARY MANSER, Winterset

Gary Eugene Manser, 63, of Winterset died Dec. 4, 2004, at his home from complications of cancer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial of the cremains was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Gary Manser was born Sept. 20, 1941, in Hampton to Harold John and Ilene Mae (Smith) Manser. He grew up in Hampton and had resided in Winterset since 1984. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Gary had been a foreman for R.J. Elder Construction in Des Moines. On Feb. 11, 1984, he married Delores Louise Cleland in Winterset. He was a member of Union Local 234 in Des Moines and the American Legion in Livermore.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Delores, of Winterset; two sons, Lonny Manser and Doug Manser, both of Washington, Mo., one daughter, Cheryl Nonzyk of Washington, Mo.; a brother, Eldon Manser of Iowa; two sisters, Delores Gales of Livermore and Gladys Vowell of Winterset; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
