JOSEPH MCGREVEY, Winterset

Joseph Francis McGrevey, 89, of Winterset died Nov. 25, 2004, at Winterset Care Center North.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday, Nov. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Burial was at Glendale Catholic Cemetery in Des Moines.

Joe McGrevey was born March 2, 1915, in Des Moines and was a graduate of East High School. In 1942, he married Charline Castor of Des Moines. Joe served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he resided in Des Moines until moving to Winterset in 1993. For most of his adult life, he worked in the men’s clothing business, retiring from Frankel’s Men’s Clothing Store in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Ted, Jim and Bob; and two sisters, Aggie and Cecelia.

He is survived by one son, Dan McGrevey of Fort Dodge; one daughter, Diane Thompson of Winterset; and four grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Caldwell-Raddatz Funeral & Cremation Services in Urbandale.
