Van Meter---(Special)---Mrs. George A. Gutshall, member of a pioneer family here, died March 17. The entire 87 years of her life had been lived in this vicinity. Since the death of her husband, a year ago, her health had declined steadily.

Mrs. Gutshall was the former Attie Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Nelson, born March 6, 1859. She was married to George A. Gutshall on July 15, 1880. Their married life was spent on a farm three miles east of Van Meter.

They were the parents of two children, a son, Roy, and a daughter, Vera, both of whom died in childhood.

Mrs. Gutshall is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rena Semans of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral services were held on March 20 from the United Brethren church, in charge of the Rev. E. A. Elliott of Des Moines, and the Rev. William Suckow of the local church. Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
