L. H. CHATFIELD Dies At 87 Years

L. H. Chatfield, a resident of Madison county since 1909, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 1961, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 87 years of age.

Mr. Chatfield had served as Watkins Products agent in this community for 25 years, but had been retired in recent years. His early life was spent in farming.

He was a native of Iowa Falls, where he was born Nov. 21, 1873, a son of J. R. and Euphame Howell Chatfield. He was married there in 1904 to Gertrude Smuck, who survives him.

His religious affiliation was with the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Harold Chatfield of La Miranda, Calif., Elvin Chatfield of Des Moines, and Max Chatfield of Knoxville; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Winterset Methodist church, in charge of the pastor the Rev. John C. Porath. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
