DEATH CALLS MRS. JOHN HOLLOWAY

Elderly Winterset Resident Died Last Thursday at Age of 82 Years

A member of a well-known Madison county family, Mrs. John Holloway, died here last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Kipp. She was 82 years of age.

Mrs. Holloway was the former Florence N. Wagor, daughter of Samuel and Melissa Wagor, and was born in Page county on June 2, 1861. When she was a small child she came with her parents to Madison county. She attended school in Winterset, later moving to Greeley, Kan.

In Kansas she met and married John R. Holloway on March 16, 1880. In the spring of 1883 they moved to Winterset, where she spent the remainder of her life.

In early childhood, Mrs. Holloway had united with the Seventh Day Adventist church, and remained a member throughout her life.

She was the mother of six children. Two of them preceded her in death, Robert dying in infancy and Lizzie in 1912. Mr. Holloway died in 1916. The surviving children are: Fred Holloway of Waterloo, Mrs. Carrie Mower of Caldwell, Ida., Mrs. Rosa Kipp of Winterset and Mrs. Jessie Wright of Waterloo. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held here Sunday from the Adventist church in charge of the Rev. Leonard C. Lee of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
