MRS. BRIDGET RYAN Dies in Des Moines

Mrs. Bridget Ryan, aged 74, of Des Moines, a former Crawford township resident, died Saturday, May 15th, 1954, at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines. She had been ill with a heart ailment the past 8 months, and death came at 9 o'clock last Saturday morning.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Maher, she was born at Cumming. Following her marriage to W. H. Ryan, they resided in Crawford township until his death in 1921. For the past 33 years she has resided in Des Moines.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons: Mrs. Mary Hanrahan of Cumming, Mrs. Nora McManus of Fresno, California, Mrs. Alice Ryan of Stuart, Mrs. Elizabeth Brien and Gregory J. Ryan of Des Moines, and Frank M. and Henry W. Ryan, both of El Paso, Texas. She also leaves two sisters, Miss Catherine Maher and Mrs. Ella Misner and a brother, William Maher all of Des Moines, and twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of St. John's Catholic church in Des Moines and a number of church organizations. Her funeral services were held at St. John's church Tuesday, May 18th, at 9:30 a.m. and burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery in Lee township.
