JOHN H.LUDLOW - Wednesday's Des Moines News:

John H. Ludlow, aged 63 years, died Tuesday at his home, 1220 East Walnut streeet, after a long illness. He was a native of Muscatine county and served in the war with the first California Infantry. He leaves a wife and three children, also a sister, Mrs. Margaret Moore at Winterset, and a brother in Sidney, Neb. The funeral was set for 3 p.m. today from the residence, under the direction of Crocker Post.

The body of John Ludlow, accompanied by his family, was brought from Des Moines to Winterset Wednesday evening. On Thursday the funeral services were held from the residence of Mr. A.M. Benge, under the charge of Pitzer Post, G.A.R.
