Death of Ellis Gregory

Word was received here the first of the week of the death of Ellis Gregory of Des Moines. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory had visited here on Sunday at the home of his brother Frank Gregory. Sunday evening they had attended the concert at the Pavilion, returning home Monday morning. Mr. Gregory was taken suddenly ill about one and a half hours before his death. He had been in ill health for some time. It was thought that death was caused by heart trouble. He suffered a stroke about five years ago.

Funeral services will be held today at one o’clock at the Carl White funeral home in Des Moines. Burial will be at the cemetery here.

Mr. Gregory was 61 years of age at the time of his death. He was born and raised in Walnut township. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory moved to Des Moines about twelve years ago.

He is survived by his wife, three brothers, Frank of Winterset, Wesley of Hydrock, Oklahoma, and Sherm of Des Moines; two sisters, Mrs. Elmina Bowlsby and Mrs. AlWilda Bivin of Portland, Oregon. Wesley Gregory of Oklahoma will not be able to attend the funeral services because of illness.
