Rev. Benjamin Franklin Hamilton died Saturday March 6, 1976 at the Methodist Retirement Home in Georgetown, Texas. He was 83 years of age.
Rev. Hamilton was born December 24, 1892 and moved to Texas about five years ago. He was married to Mabel Clague, who survives him.
Serving pastorates in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, Rev. Hamilton maintained a home in Winterset in recent years.
Survivors include two sons, Arlo Hamilton of Eugene, Oregon, Leo F. Hamilton of Austin, Texas and a daughter, Mrs. Lois Coffin of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, one great grandson and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Martin and Mrs. Florence Cox, both of Des Moines and Mrs. Nellie Ricks of Bayards, Iowa.
Rev. Hamilton was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Francis.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m. from Worthington United Methodist Church, the Rev. Donald Harbour officiating. Burial was made at the Worthington Cemetery.
