LARRY BROWN, Florida

Larry G. Brown, 58, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Winterset, died July 7, 2006.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 12, with burial at Town and Country Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.

Larry Brown was born in Des Moines to Earnest and Ethel (Murphy) Brown. He resided in Winterset through the eighth grade, graduating from Paton-Churdan Community Schools in 1966. He attended the University of Northern Iowa before joining the United States Navy. Larry retired from the Navy in 1989, serving both actively and in the reserves. He was employed by General Electric Security, Inc., of Jacksonville prior to his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Shair-singh) of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Larry Joel Brown of San Diego, Calif., and Nathan Brown of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Tara Brown Kelley of Graniteville, S.C.; a brother, Loyde (Bud) Brown; four sisters, LaDonna Speer, Elaine Newton, Arlene Beerends, and Mary Onstot; and three grandchildren.
