E. A. TORBET Of Peru Dies

Earnest A. Torbet of Peru died Saturday, March 6, 1971, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 88 years.

Mr. Torbet had lived on a farm near Peru since 1937. He was a native of Illinois, where he was born at Crescent City of March 6, 1883, a son of John F. and Minerva Furgeson Torbet. He was married at Eaton, S. Dak., on May 29, 1912, to Mable S. Little, who survives him.

He was a member of the United Brethren church at Crescent City, Ill.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Helms of Truro; two sons, Don Torbet of Perry and Kenneth Torbet of Marblehill, Mo., six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Frances Martins of Cedar Rapids; and three brothers, William Torbet of Eden, Mich. , Elmer Torbet of Corvallis, Ore., and Charles Torbet of Mitchell, S. Dak.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
