Long-Time Farmer of Near Peru Dies at Home in Winterset
Wilbert E. Hogue, long-time resident of the Peru community died Tuesday, Oct. 29, at his home in Winterset. He was 81 years of age.
Mr. Hogue was born at Peru Nov. 8, 1881, a son of George W. and Frances Garst Hogue. Most of his life wa spent in this county. During his active years he engaged in farming. He moved into Winterset in 1960.
He was a member of the Methodist church.
Mr. Hogue was married May 17, 1902 to Nellie E. Darper, who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Gus Schmidt of Agua Dulce, Calif., and Mrs. Thelma Walter of North Hollywood, Calif.; 5 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, Grover and Clyde Hogue of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Chillcote, both of California; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Howard Cho. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Wilbert E. Hogue, long-time resident of the Peru community, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1963, at his home in Winterset. He was 81 years of age.

Funeral services will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Peru Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.
