Velma Hougham, Des Moines

Services for Velma Hougham, 66, Des Moines, who died Jan. 21 at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Fisher Funeral Home in Adel. Burial was at the Panther Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Hougham was born April 11, 1918 in Madison County, the daughter of Vellores and Etta Wallace. She spent most of her life as a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Gary and Dennis, both of Des Moines, Paul of Kansas City, Mo., Steve of Savannah, Ga., and Mark of Altoona; a sister, Cleo Penn of Adel; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph.
