Regena C. Hoffman, 79, died May 24, 2005 at the Perry Lutheran Home
A Funeral Mass was held Friday May 27, at St. John's Catholic Church in rural Adel with Father Al Sherbo officiating. Burial was at Bear Creek Cemetery in rural Earlham.
Regena Hoffman was born April 24, 1926 to Edward and Mary (Siepman) Walsh of Morning Sun. She graduated from Morning Sun High School in 1944, attended Burlington Community College and graduated from the School of Practical Nursing. On Nov. 17, 1945, she married Max Hoffman in Burlington. Regena worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and as the EKG tech at the University of Iowa with the State Services for Crippled Children. In 1984, following many years in Oxford, she and her husband moved to Earlham. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in rural Adel and the National Horseshoe Pitching Association. She also was involved with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts as a leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, eight brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Danette Gadbaw.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Russell of Earlham; two sons, Philip Hoffman of Perry and Joseph Hoffman of West Chester; and 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham and Redfield.
