C. L. THOMPSON Of Patterson Dies

Clarence L. Thompson of Patterson died Tuesday, March 2, 1971, at Madison Manor in Winterset. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Thompson was a native of Guthrie county, where he was born Feb. 13, 1893, a son of George B. and Flora Hardening Thompson. He had lived in Madison county the last 25 years. During his active life, he engaged in farming and worked as a carpenter. He had been retired since 1955.

Mr. Thompson was married in Guthrie county on Feb. 23, 1916, to Mabel McGiveny, who survives him

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves eight children: Mrs. George McCorkle of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Ted Salmi of College Park, Md., Mrs. Robert White of Landover, Md., Mrs. Ned Tollinger of Colts Neck, N.J., Mrs. Francis Platt of Macksburg, Richard Thompson of Bellflower, Calif., Mrs. Don Vixie of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Darrell Reiber of Medford, Ore.

He also leaves 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, George Thompson of Ohio.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Craig Hollingsworth of Perry. Burial was
made in the Winterset cemetery.
