July 11, 1945WILLIAM R. WALKER Dies In Colorado
William R. Walker, a native of Madison county, died at a hospital in Denver, Colo., on June 30, 1945, it was learned here last week. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Walker was the son of William and Rebecca Walker, and was born in this county Dec. 11, 1861. He was married at Macksburg on Sept. 8, 1886, to Viola Alice Barker. They were the parents of eight children, one of whom, Otis, preceded the father in death.
Mr. Walker lived in Madison county until 1916, when he moved his family to Chugwater, Wyo. In 1924 he and Mrs. Walker moved to Akron, Colo., and in 1941 to Englewood, Colo., where he was living at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; seven children, William O. Walker of Des Moines, Robert L. Walker of Orient, Ralph Walker of Denver, Mrs. Lela Huston and Mrs. Ettie Murray of Denver, Mrs. Hildred Penick of Chugwater, Wyo., and Mrs. Lucy Cantrell of Englewood, Colo.
Funeral services were held July 3rd at Englewood and burial was made in the Crown Hill cemetery at Denver, Colo.
