BESSIE WALKER, Winterset

A funeral service was held Tuesday, April 27, at Grace Baptist Church for Bessie Irene Walker of Winterset, who died April 25, 1982, at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 72 years old.

Born in Union county on Aug. 31, 1909, she was the daughter of Carey and Artie Whyte Headley.

On March 15, 1936 she married A. Cecil Walker in Osceola, Ia. Four children were born to the couple

Mrs. Walker was a homamaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Cecil; 3 sons, Charles of Lincoln, Neb., James of West Bend, Ia. and John of Yadkinville, North Carolina; a daughter, Esther Walker of Ames; 2 sisters, Clarinda Allen of Winterset and Iva Impey of Schaumburg, Ill.; and 9 grandchildren.

Pastor Ray Richardson officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Winterset Cemetery.
