Carl E. Hines, 84, died December 8, 1993 at Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services were held at Collins Funeral Home on Sat. Dec. 11, 1993 with the Rev. Esther Koughn officiating the ceremony. Burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.
He was born June 22, 1909 in Des Moines to Frank and Julia (Turner) Hines. He married Marjorie Peterson Palmer on February 21, 1973 in Van Meter. He was a retired service technician and mechanic and a member of the DeSoto United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wire, Louise Hamner, one son and two step-sons.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Marjorie Hines of Van Meter; one son, Bill Hines and wife Marilyn of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Norma Woodley and husband Ronald of Lorimor; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Van Meter United Methodist Church.
