John P. Attig, long-time resident of St. Charles, died last Friday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Anna Wyatt. He was 88 years of age.

Mr. Attig came to St. Charles with his parents in his youth, and spent the remainder of his life there. His active years were spent on the same farm, which he had owned since 1899.

His wife preceded him in death. He leaves one son, Elmer Attig; a brother, Fred G. Attig of Murphysboro, Ind.; and four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Fleck and Mrs. Anna Wyatt of St. Charles, Mrs. Lena Clark of Baxter and Mrs. Linnian Stoneman of New Virginia.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles United Presbyterian church, in charge of the Rev. Frederick Cooper of Truro. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
