G. Rodney Hilbery, a native of Macksburg community died Dec. 28 at Farr, Tex. He was 60 years of age. Death resulted from a heart attack, after having had surgery several months ago.
Mr. Hilbery was a son of the late H. C. and Mary E. Hilbery. He was born near Macksburg Nov. 10, 1902 and spent his early life on a farm near there. He graduated from Macksburg high school.
He was married Jan. 26, 1926, at Corning, to Pearl Faust, who survives him.
He moved to Mission, Tex., in 1945, living there for a number of years, where he was employed by the International company. He then moved to Farr, where he worked as head mechanic for the Texas Citrus Fruit company of Mission.
He was an active member of the Methodist church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Donald Hilbery, of Rio Grande City, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Byrd of Santa Rosa, Tex.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey Hilbery of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Methodist church with burial in Memorial Gardens at Farr.
