LEON J. WAHLERT

Leon Junior Wahlert, the son of Fred and Clara Porter Wahlert, was born June 28, 1917 in Audubon County, Iowa. He passed away October 19, 1979 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines after a short illness.

Leon was given the nickname "Man" as a small child and was called this by his family and friends. Man was a member of the United States Army serving his country during World War II from 1941 to 1945.

On December 19, 1946, Man was united in marriage to Goldie Rosenburg at Troy, Kansas. Three children blessed this marriage, Lee Richard, James Leon and Shirley Joanne.

For several years Man trucked with his brother Randolph. He later was employed by Oscar Mayer Pork Plant at Perry until 1977 when he retired.

Man was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dexter. Burial was at Dexter Cemetery.
