Page 2CLIFFORD HIATT OF PERU DIED SATURDAY
Clifford M. Hiatt, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Saturday, Jan. 29, at his home in Peru. He was 87 years of age.
Mr. Hiatt was a retired employee of the telephone company at Peru.
He was born at Peru, Dec. 21, 1887, a son of Arthur M. and Martha McKee Hiatt. He was married at Mt. Ayr on Aug. 19, 1937, to Myrtle Morgan. She is the only surviving near relative. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Funeral services were held at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro Monday for Clifford Mervel Hiatt, 87 year old Peru man. He died at his home in Peru on January 29 and was 87 years old.
Mr. Hiatt was born on December 21, 1878, a son of Arthur and Martha McKee Hiatt. He lived his entire life in Madison county and was a retired telephone company employee.
He was married to Myrtle Morgan at Mt. Ayr on August 19, 1937.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Nora Jorgenson and Maggie Brown and one brother, Oren Hiatt.
Rev. James Nicholson officiated the services Monday and burial was in the Peru Cemetery.
