Henry O. Waechter, son of U. Z. and Lillie E. Waechter was born in Peru, Iowa, March 29th, 1902. He slipped peacefully away to rest on the 14th of December 1932. His whole life has been lived in Madison county, except about three years spent in travel and in government service.
Henry was a very quiet unassuming young man constantly striving to lighten the burden of any deserving fellow-man, unselfishly forgetting his own health in so doing. Being a great lover of the out-of-doors, and the finer things of nature he spent much time in the cultivation of his flowers and developed some fine specimens of the flowers he loved.
His father, U. Z. Waechter, and an only brother, Lloyd U. Waechter passed away in 1915 and 1918, respectively. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lillie E. Waechter of Winterset and two sisters, Mrs. Grover Baker of Peru, and Mrs. Orval Clark of Knoxville; three nieces, other relatives and a host of friends.
