RUBY B. WACHT, Dexter

Ruby Berniece Wacht, 78, of Dexter died Oct. 10, 2000, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 12, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Dexter with Dr. Ray Martin officiating. Burial was at East Linn Cemetery, Redfield.

Ruby Wacht was born Aug. 5, 1922, to Nickolie and Betsy (Christenson) Johnson of rural St. Olaf. She married John Wacht on Oct. 24, 1970, at the family farm west of Redfield. Ruby was a very active partner with her husband in the family farming business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Jerry Waalk (wife Linda) of West Des Moines and John Waalk (wife Diane) of Ankeny; two daughters, Marcia Vanden Wymelenberg (husband Carl) of Donna, Texas, and Jean Andreasen (husband Axel) of West Des Moines; two sisters, Stella Peterson of Dubuque and Jose Gusta of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
