Edward J. Hermon, Winterset

Services for Edward J. Hermon, 79, Winterset, who died Oct. 9 at the Winterset Care Center North where he resided, were held Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Schaull officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born Nov. 16, 1905 in Madison County, he was the son of Charles and Grace DeBord Hermon. He was a switch engineer for the Penn-Dixie company and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater. Mr. Hermon was a lifetime resident of the area, was a member of the Baptist Church and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include sisters, Mary Rhodes, Betty Hermon and Dora Hulbert, all of Winterset and Virginia Noennick of Glendale, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
