1945WILLIAM HENTHORNE DIES IN DES MOINES
Was Long-Time Resident of Clarke and Madison Counties
William A. Henthorne, a former resident of Madison and Clarke counties died in Des Moines Sept. 26 at the age of 73 years.
Mr. Henthorne was born Aug. 10, 1872, in Clarke county, the son of Marion and Mary Henthorne. He spent his entire life in Clarke and Madison counties until moving to Des Moines 25 years ago.
He was married to Bertha Davis on Oct. 12, 1895. they were the parents of four children, two of whom died in infancy.
He is survived by one son, Arlie C. Henthorne of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. George Cunningham of Venice, Calif.; a step-son, Frank Davis of Truro; two sisters, Mrs. Lena McGvice and Mrs. Bertha Walters of Santa Monica, Calif.; a half sister, Mrs. Florence Grimes of Peru; and two step-sisters, Mrs. Mollie Davis of Burr Oak, Kan., and Mrs. Hattie Fowler of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held last Friday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. Frederick Cooper. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
