Retired Abstractor Had Lived Most of Life in Winterset
Will H. Henry, a well-known Winterset resident for more than half a century, died last Wednesday, April 20, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Henry was a native of Des Moines, where he was born Nov. 20, 1890, a son of William A. and Mary Ambrest Henry. He came to Winterset as a young man and served as an abstractor here for many years. He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War I.
He was married here to Jessie Rowe of Winterset, who preceded him in death in 1958.
At his death he was survived by two brothers, John A. Henry of Roseburg, Ore., and Fred H. of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. W. C. Meyer of Weirsdale, Fla. However, the brother in Des Moines died also on the day of Mr. Henry's funeral in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home here, conducted by the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery with military ritual at the grave-side by Green-Rogers post of the American Legion.
