Fred E. McKibban, a resident of Lorimor since 1901, and a barber there for 45 years, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1951, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. McKibban was born in Madison county, Sept. 25, 1882, a son of Josiah and Lucinda McKibban. He was married at Indianola July 29, 1914, to Lena E. Smith. They were the parents of three children.
He was a Master Mason, affiliated with Fern Lodge 558 A. F. and A. M., for 43 years, having joined March 17, 1908.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Capt. Robert V. McKibban of the U. S. Air Force; two daughters, Mrs. Nelda L. Gordon of Park Ridge, Ill., and Mrs. Jeanne Kirkhart of Creston; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ross of Lorimor and Mrs. Iva Callison of Earlham, and a brother, Austin McKibban of Elliott.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Lorimor Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. James Wilkins. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
