Thursday, January 31, 1924Death of Mrs. Henery
Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Henery died at her home on Friday, Jan. 25, aged almost 89 years. Mrs. Henery's residence in Winterset dates back to 59 years ago, when with her husband, W. C. Henery, who died just two years ago, she came here from Ohio.
Mrs. Henery rendered lifetime devotion to her family, friends and church. When her strength began to fail, she came to church in a wheeled chair, and ceased coming only a few weeks ago, when excessive weakness prevented her from leaving home. To her mother's care the only daughter, Cora, dedicated herself and the bond between mother and daughter was of unusual tenderness.
Mrs. Henery was the last member of the Josiah E. Leech family.
Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon, in charge of Rev. LeRoy C. Cooley. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
