Helen E. Waltz, a long time resident of Lincoln township died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines last Thursday, May 16, 1974. She was 58 years of age.
Mrs. Waltz was born in Wayne County, Iowa, on December 21, 1915, the daughter of Alva and Nina Shouldis Duncan. She was married to Francis (Frank) Waltz at Trenton, Missouri on February 17, 1937 and moved to Madison County shortly afterwards.
Mrs. Waltz was employed by the Sey Mour Food Company in Des Moines for 10 years. She spent four years as a volunteer worker for the Red Cross
Survivors include her husband, Frank, of Winterset; and five children;Jerry of Winterset; Larry of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; Carolyn Grose of Macksburg; Virginia Forshier of Redfield; and Thomas of Des Moines.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Laws of Des Moines; and two brothers; Lyle Duncan of Lineville and Cliff Duncan of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral services were held at 10:0 a.m. Monday, May 20 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Loren Diddy of Redfield presiding. A rosary service was held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, May 19.
Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
