Funeral services for Robert Lowell Hazen, 81, were held June 16 at Van Meter United Methodist Church. Mr. Hazen died of a heart ailment on June 13, 1993 at Winterset Care Center North. Burial was at Booneville Cemetery.
He was born in Madison County on March 12, 1912 to Charles and Stella (Sweezy) Hazen. He married Alice Smith March 24, 1938. He resided in Jefferson Tosnwhip for all but the last eight months of his life and was a retired farmer and livestock breeder of Hereford cattle. He was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau and the Van Meter United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were two sisters and an infant granddaughter.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Alice; a daughter, Phyllis Thomas of Leon; two brothers, John of Van Meter and Carl of Hemet, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
