Helen Louise Hays, Dexter

Funeral services for Helen Louise Hays, 88, were held Sun., Jan. 26 at McKee Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. Jill Flyr officiating. Mrs. Hays died January 23 at Adel Acres from a respiratory infection.

She was born July 5, 1903 to Fred and Ella (Jones) Fuller south of Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School. She attended college at Cedar Falls and taught school in the Huxley and Pocahontas areas. She was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church and active in Eastern Star. She married Cecil Hochsteler in 1924. After his death she married Everett Baughman, and after his death married Max Hays in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands and a son.

Surviving are a step-son, Dan Baughman of Corona, Calif.; a step-daughter, Alene Brobst of Englewood, Colo.; and a sister Thelma Lenocker of Earlham.

The body was cremated following the services.
